Dick from Oak Creek, Wisconsin booked a trip on "The Rock" for Friday morning. The day started out with a lot of rain so we held off on launching until after 9 am. We went out to a spot on the old river channel edge that produced some good crappie action earlier in the week. Put two dead rods in with big fat-heads, and jigged one each tipped with minnows or half a crawler. The dead rods had action right from the get go. Biggest crappie was a bit over 13", with some smaller ones mixed in. The rain returned and the bite in the trees just died. We worked the edge of the break and found some active walleye, but it was slow as well. We finished with 3 "keepers", 9 "shorties, and 8 crappies. Dick had a nice bag of fillets to take home. I will be out on "The Rock" again tomorrow, and on "Pete" on Sunday, so I will post results then.
