Well I went out to the In Law's place and picked up the Bayliner. We pulled the starter and the flywheel was fine so we bench tested the starter and it was fine... hmmm... But it still was not engageing the flywheel. Went to advanced and they had two different starters for the 4.3 one for the truck engine and one for the blazer engine. The mechanic put the one from the blazer in and it was too short and engaged for a few starts untill the teeth wore off on the bendix. So the truck one is the correct one it is just a touch longer which allows the bendix to fully engage. Boats runnin and I started putting in the extras it needs for trolling and fishing. Cant wait to get her wet tomorrow. thanks for the pep talk and for a 65 buck fix Im now in an 18.5' boat instead of a 14'er. Now I just have to get the skunk outta the boat!
