Fishing Report for June 14
Yesterday, guided for walleye out on Grindstone lake, we started out trolling shallow flats in 6-14 feet of water with crawler harnesses, my client same, age 9 got his first walleye a 24 incher!! we trolled for a couple of hours, and got the one walleye and a couple of small fish (bluegill, rockbass), then we went to open water trolling with cranks, and right away we got a fish on, sam reeled in a 21 inch walleye almost 300 feet out!! The walleye on the crankbait was a Reef Runner Ripstick in purple prism running 110 feet behind the board, so it was down about 10-11 feet over about 30 feet of water. he did great, and got his first two walleye, and both really nice ones. Fishing was a bit slower than it has been, but glad sam got his walleye, and he was excited!!
Today, guided out of Pats landing for anything that will bite, we tried two spots with slip bobbers and leeches, but no luck, then we casted some cranks and spinnerbait, got some largemouths and pike, the pike were up to about 24 inches. we then threw spro frogs for largemouths, and got quite a few of them up to about 3 1/2 pounds, all were on lilly pads, close to shore, none came on the shallow flats of lilly pads, missed and lost alot too, it was alot of fun!!
Water temps are 63 degrees, and the water on the chip is up about 3-4 inches at least.
