My bank initially told me thay could not cash my check since it did not have the proper number of digits in the routing number at the bottom. After I stated that it was a Canadian Government check, they rethought and cashed it. They told me that they would have to send it to their international division for final clearance rather than sending through their normal processing center. This is the first time that I have had this issue come up in the past 8 years.
