New Moon Phase Coming Up
I am going to be keeping track of musky action this weekend (I hope we have some) again to see if there are any correlations to be drawn regarding Monday's new moon.
There is a pretty big weather system on the way associated with low pressure so that should help out as well. I will report back with "action times" to see how it stacks up against the lunar chart.
Hot times according to my Muskies, Inc. Calendar are as follows:
Friday...........8:20am-11:42am / 8:45pm-12:07am
Saturday.......9:12am-12:48pm / 9:37pm-1:13am
Sunday.........10:13am-1:55pm / 10:38pm-2:20am
Sunrise and Sunset: 5:42am/8:55pm

Surface activity
Red, last weekend,on the river, Travis & I talked about there not being ANY surface activity,no feeding surface rings, not seeing any fish in slower shallow areas.Water temp s. of Warren were 62.3. Did have 1 follow on a 7 inch X-Rap,all i can say is that fish was over 3 feet long.Gonna try again starting this weekend into next week. Any suggestions ????? JIM T

I am hearing the bass/walleye/trout bite has been tough. There were 300,000 fingerling trout stocked in the Warren area the week of June 2nd. My guess is that with the new walleye and pike spawn plus the stocked trout fingerlings compounded with the already tremendous amount of naturally occuring bait, the predator fish do not have to go far to fill their bellies.
Be persistent and work the fish hard throughout the day. Long casts are always crucial when fishing out of a boat (on this clear water) while eliminating ALL unnatural boat noise.
Good luck!

Got a vacation day planned for Monday
We'll see.........
-
I'll be out Sunday for sure and possibly Saturday, depends on the lightning that might be involved.
-
Jay, a little lightning keeps things interesting!
Caught some nice fish during times I had no business being out there, stupid things we do for a picture!
-
LOL You got that right. I'll probably hook the boat up and take it for a drive on Saturday and if things look Ok, I'll set sail for some Musky. I plan to do some exploring at Bald Eagle Reservoir over the weekend.
-
Clients had 3 fish up to the boat today............1 at 10:15am, another at 11:35am and the largest (mid to upper 40's) at 1:32pm.
-
Chased rising trout during the hard rain early this morning and just as we switched over to muskies, the thunder/lightning came and we packed it in at 8:45am.
-
We could not move a fish all day Sunday.....very tough for us.
-
Fished Bald Eagle Reservoir yesterday for a few hours. Not a sniff of a Musky. Most of the baitfish seemed to be piled up over the secondary breaks. I'm thinking that casting or trolling for suspended fish might be the way to go. Seems to be all that I am finding this year!! LOL

Had a small follow on Sunday at 10am. That was the only day I could get out and the only action I had.
