6/28
Trevor from Sparta booked a morning trip on "Pete" along with his son Colin, and Dad Ross for today. We planned on starting at 6 am, but the t-storms were still moving through the area so we moved it out until 8. We started the morning working channel edges around wood with dead rods tipped with large minnows, and jigging with fat-heads, but the bite was slow as I expected it would be after the front went through. Colin did boat a nice northern, and Ross had a "keeper" on a jig, and had a few other bites. Colin also had a 13 incher at the side of the boat when an high 40's to low 50"s Musky made a pass at it. They have never trolled with planer boards so we pulled Flicker Shads and Shad Raps along edges in 7-15 feet of water. Before I had four lines in the water we boated 1 in the slot, 1 "keeper", one "shorty", and lost one. We finished the day with 7 "keepers", 1 in the slot, more than 2 dozen "shorties", 1 northern, 2 white bass, and 1 mid 20's with whiskers.
Keep a tight line!!!
Jerry
