Bob at Deadhorse is renting ice shanties this year. You can reach him at 715-562-0287 or 715-544-5851.

My brother and his two buddies were out on 11/26/13 and bagged 9 keeper eyes on tip ups. That's the last I've heard.

Was out yesterday, 5+ inches out there. The walleyes are full of 1-4 inch bullheads?!
BTW, the limit is still 2 walleyes per person.

    Default 12/18/13 Update

Ice thickness is being reported at anywhere between 7"-11" with the thinner ice near the old river channels and some bays. Snomobiles and ATVs are travelling on the ice and some shanties have been set; however, caution is still advised.

Walleye action on tip-ups with large shiners or sucker minnows in 8-10 fow at sunrise and dusk has been reported.

    Default Current Ice Conditions

What is the ice thickness looking like these days?

How is the slush/snow on top affecting travel?

    Thanks

There is about 16" of ice and slush levels are minimal. Walleye action has been best in 9-12 fow with small suckers and shiners on tip-ups in the afternoon to dusk hours. Snowmobile trails are fantastic. Thanks to our groomers.
