Sound like you had a great day on the water. what depth of water were you in when you were slip bobber fishing in deep water? I never tried slip bobber fishing out on the mud flat before but I have thought about it. Usually I will troll that area with either crawler harnesses or cranks. My typical set up would be to pull both with Berkley 10 lb. XT and have found no reason to have leaders on the line while pulling cranks. With my harnesses, I'm building them with 40" leaders out of 17 or 14 lb. test, and have been using a flourocarbon for a number of years now for my leaders.
