We had a good day chasing muskies and (believe it or not) the walleye were a little more difficult. We had action in almost every spot we fished. Hal had the largest musky of the season come in tight behind his bait and Hal did not see her as she ducked under the boat and was gone. He eventually would stick his first purebred musky about 2 hours later. Craig had a decent follow during the afternoon but couldn’t get her to turn around at boatside. He also lost 2 walleye in the early morning hours. I had a smaller musky attack my larger walleye bait and we safely netted and released her.

The weather really cooperated with us and was the main reason we had steady action all day long. The river is really clear and it’s gonna be another bad year of bottom algae growth if things stay low and clear again this year.

We’ll be out again on Friday/Saturday chasin’ muskies.

Good luck and safe travels!
