Bob from Muscatine, Iowa joined me for a morning trip on "The Rock". I pick Bob up at the dock in front of Portofino’s at 6 am in a slight drizzle and headed north to fish the channel edges in the river. We pulled up near the island and waited for a down-pour to pass on the north end for a couple minutes. When that passed it brought the wind behind it blowing in the mid-upper teems with gusts a lot higher. We soaked dead rods with minnows and jigged and had 2 nice crappies, and one cat before boat control went away because of the wind. We put the boards in the water and caught a handful of "shorties", and one 17 1/2 inch keeper.
