wow, i thought with the decent snowfall the flowage would be closer to full pool. looks like they are going to need a ton of rain up there. just not opner weekend. I missed it last year due to ice. black ice on bastine? nice....

Just got back. I went out off from Sportsman's landing just for the heck of it - there was still some slush floating around but mostly clear in those bays. I tried to find some panfish but didn't try too hard as I was really up there to scout for bear, so a brief trip and no fish. It started raining last night and still was when I left today but it's a light rain. The woods were tinder dry on Saturday, and when I swung down by the river it looked very low. On a good note, saw plenty of grouse, a few deer, turkey (including a gobbler that blasted me about a dozen times), loons, sandhills, and geese were calling. Hope for rain, and lots of it.
