How far along does the weed growth in the Chip tend to be in early May? About the earliest I've ever been on the chip is the very last wekend of May.

It really depends on how early the ice goes out and how much sun we get after the ice goes out. Some years we have fresh weeds in early May or, like last year, we have absolutely no weeds. Usually the more weeds the better the fishing.
