    Default jigrapper thanks for posting

Probably 200 people out there this weekend and none of them own computers to post, and let us fools that had to work this weekend know how the bite was.

    Default Saturday Perch

Two of us caught 30 perch Saturday, with 12 keepers, the rest were small and released. We fished near the Days River access, starting in 15' and ending in 26'. Waxworms and wigglers worked best. We lost one larger fish that hit a shiner minnow - never saw it - possible walleye, maybe a pike. Largest perch was 11". No real jumbos, but some nice eaters.

Note: drilling holes sometimes scatters fish, so I use an attractor to try to pull them back in. The same is true when you drill a hole in a spot where there are no fish directly below you, so you have to try to attract them over to your area from nearby spots. The best attractor for us Saturday was a 1/4 ounce Lewis Rat-L-Trap lure in neon green with red stripes near the gills. Rip it up then let it free-fall back down for a minute or so, then set your perch rigs down about two to three feet off bottom. If you are using soft baits like waxies or wigglers, put two spikes on the hook first, followed by the waxie or wiggler. That way if the fish tears the soft bait off at the bite you still have the spikes there working for you.

    Default Pike came from

I caught that pike last fall fishing upper peavy. Would have let it go but it had torn some of its gills in the fight and was bleeding bad. Was just over 40 inches.

Fished off Sand Point Saturday. It was very slow (at least for us) with only a couple fish seen on the underwater camera. Managed to ice one whitefish about 18".
