Fishing Report 2-6-09

It's been a long winter so far and it sure was good to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day on the water, I mean ice. Bernie and I tried our luck on a back water slough of the Wisconsin River. I started out jigging and Bernie set up two rods with a crappie minnow. After Bernie's three fish, I was using minnows (5/6 fish came on minnows).
Locator was showing us fish all day. These fish were all tight to the bottom. Never seen any fish swim above the bottom. All the fish we caught were ones we coaxed to come off the bottom and not all them would bite. It was a tough bite, very tough. But we didn’t care, like I said…it was a beautiful day. :)
