Took the boat out on the river this afternoon for the first outing in 2009. A few other boats showed up but the fishing was slow. Saw one legal walleye caught and a 25ish sturgeon. Will be back out Saturday and Sunday to see if we can't hook into something.

where is there open water?
Below the Dubay dam. Boat landing has been a little slick so you'll need four wheel drive. I'm sure with the rain and the possible 50 degree weather tomorrow it will clear up a little. Careful if anyone goes down there, they just poured a series of new pylons on the east end of the dam a couple weeks ago just under the water line. If the water is calm, which is wasn't, you could see them. They poured them out far enough where you think you're safe but a couple guys I talked to have already made trips to M&J's for new props.
