Coming up in a week and just wondering if anyone has been fishing out towards portage point.
If so how are the ice conditions (any large cracks? ice thickness?).
We will be going out b4 daylight from the parking lot south of the harbor and would just like to know if there are any dangers to be aware of.

a few of my buddies went out there and said 12" + of ice and no dangers to be aware of. They lost a couple at night and got 2 19" in the morning. They went out of the beach parking lot in escanaba.

Just woundering if the ice and landing is holding up south of esky after the warmth and rain. (mid 50's on winnebago today)
Will be heading up later this week and would like to know if I need to change my game plan.
Now I know why no one has said anything about this spot.
4 guys fished Sat. pm spread out from 22-64 ft of water never marked a fish.
Other people out there but didn't seem like they were doing anything either most left early.
