TFF Crappies
I was back out yesterday and my target was to get a good meal of crappie, and that I did. Using 1/16 ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with medium fatheads, I spent my time vertical jigging deep stumps along river channel edges and also worked various cribs. In a little over 3 hours, I managed to boat over 40 crappies from these spots along with 2 real nice eyes. Took my limit of 10 crappie and threw all others smaller than 11 inches back, the ones I kept ranged from 11 to 14 inches, quite the plate of filets. Our fish fry last evening with fresh crappie really hit the spot.
Planning a trip out today if the weather holds, will keep you updated.

Don,
My friend has a set of 5 year old twins and a 6 year old that love to fish for pan fish. How would you recommend that they fish these types of spots. I don't think jigging would work very well for that age group.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
Set them up with a slip bobber rig and fish over the top of these cribs I talk about, just make sure their hook is a as close as a foot to the bottom.
