34 inch Muskie, 12 5/8 inch Crappie

Joel Zimmerman landed his first Muskie ever...a hard fightin' 34 incher. Joel and his son Brad were casting for Pike on Big Wolf Lake when his lure "practically hit the fish on the head" as the lure landed in the water. A battle ensued and after a few minutes of fun, Brad netted his Dad's fish. The guys took a few pictures and the fish was released alive.

"I've never caught a Crappie before!" exclaimed 7-year old Matthew McCarty, who is here fishing with his family. While catching Perch and Rock Bass, Matthew's bobber went under the surface and the battle began. When they realized the fish was a dandy Crappie....a 12 5/8 incher...they landed it quickly. Matthew's Crappie was big enough to place him 4th in this year's Top Ten Crappie Contest at Oak Haven Resort.
