Hot Salmon Action!!!
Well with loads of wind this past weekend Lake Michigan isnt where you wanted to be sitting. Watching the weather closely looking for a break in the weather, I gambled & made the trip hoping to get in on some HOT salmon action. My day started early Monday at 3:10 a.m. getting the boat ready & was leaving the dock at 3:30 a.m. With the high humidity the great lakes angler knows what that brings, FOG!! Not fun & very dangerous at times. We navigated slowly and cautiously to our fishing location & set lines. It took a while before our first release of the morning, but after that it was on for the next 3 hours or so. Our key to success in this trip was the GPS. I know most anglers have these, but it can be a HUGE over looked tool. We kept working a school of rouge kings & filled the cooler with a limit in no time. With tourament season upon us I cant say too many details, but flashers & flies were pretty much dominated the day. Hope everyone can enjoy this very valuable resource & give every angler space out there. There is alot of water in the Lake. Go find fish & form a pattern. Lots of times the big kings blow out of areas because of high boat traffic. Wishing you the Best of luck!!
