Congratulations to good friend Brent Torres on his Fish Ohio Walleye. Brent and crew have been fishing with Mike and I on the Sunchaser for almost 20 years and this was the biggeat Walleye he has ever caught. While fishng one of their regular scheduled trip over Memorial day weekend we started out drift fishing in the AM. The wind died on us and we had no choice but to switch over and start trolling. We quickly set up put the drift socks out, planner boards and started setting the Okuma reels at 75 ft and 80 ft in 33 ft of water NE of Niagra Reef. We immediately started catching walleye and after some driving around to zero in on the hot spot we were in the zone. The Walleye were ranging in the 3 lb + range when the port rod set at 80 ft. went off snapped loose from the clothes pin and took off. Brent grabbed the rod and patiently waited until the line came around in line with the transom he started to reel in saying it's a Hawg! He reeled in slowly which took longer and when the # 40 jet came to the surface we could see a huge Walleye mouth in the water. After some time he reeled it in and Capt. Mike netted the 30.5 in 10.6 lb. Fish Ohio Walleye. Needless to say he took it home to have mounted as that was the biggest Walleye he ever caught with us. Thanks to Mac, Rob, Dean, Joe, Chris they all did great trolling caught a lot of fish. We caught 68 walleyes in 2 1/2 days and everyone was happy. We continued a long tradition of Capt. Ron cooking his marinated pork tenderloin and sweet corn Friday night and Dean & crew cooked spiced Rib Eye steaks, baked potato and corn Saturday night. What a feast! Thanks to all Capt. Ron
