Hit the lake today with the father and son tandem, Steve Waters and his son Nate. We casted most the day and Steve caught and released his first Ohio musky that was just under thirty inches long on a Super Stalker. The bluebird skies, flat calm water and cool morning temps seemed to have the larger fish in shutdown mode this morning. Tried early afternoon trolling to no avail. Lots of small fish being caught lately, which bodes well for the future (at least temporarily, anyways).
Hit the lake last night with my stepson Kyle and friend Danny Quinn, and we raised five muskies, including one really big one, one hour prior to moonrise. The frustrating thing is I seem to have "follow-itis" this year, as I just can't seem to hit the lake when these fish want to eat! I am seeing a lot of fish, but my personal catch numbers are down this year. Frustrating indeed. Perhaps these fish are over educated....:) Seriously though, I hope to break out of this funk soon!!
Anyways, a big congrats to Steve on his first Buckeye musky!!!
