Just an FYI we are seeing an ungodly amount of alewives in WI right now. Went out of Port Washington the other day and I though my LMS was screwed up. The whole bottom ten feet of the harbor was solid bait. Also there are reports of 25+lb kings coming in already. Looks like it will be a good year.

It's the same story in Kewaunee and Algoma. The river is jumping with Alewive, and we are marking some nice baitballs. The kings have not showed up thick as of yet, but it's only a matter of time. Should be a great year!

That is good news. Especially since the midnr reports were that #s were down in the trawl/surveys.

I wanna say no. There was some bait around in the spring. But this was unreal. There were dead alewives floating and the gulls were to fat to go get them.

I haven't landed a 25+ lbs king in a few years. I am geeked to hear about the abundant of bait fish. The biggest fish hitting the deck was a 35 lbs, 43 inch fish I picked up out of Petoskey back in 95-96 time frame.
