Walleye action has been great this last week. Most fish have been very shallow. The mid day bite has been good on stained water. Large chubs (4-5")have actually been producing better than the small minnows most people are using right now. Crank baits and 1/4 oz beetle spin type spinners are also producing quite a few fish.
Big hen bass are putting on the pre-spawn feed bag and right now is the best time to catch the largest bass of the year. Early in the day fish plastis like slug-gos or gulp minnows. Later in the day as the water warms switch to crank baits and spinnerbaits. Wood cover has been holding a lot of fish as well as shallow sand, rock, and mud flats that warm up with the sun.
Right now is prime time for walleye and bass so hopefully you can get out and get into some action. Good luck, Gordy.
