The water is starting to warm and the fishing is getting better. Due to the economic hard times that Michigan is facing there is plenty of boat traffic to contend with.
A warm forecast for the weekend looks like it willl be a busy wknd on the water. The Michingan Walleye Tour is also on the D-R for their annual event(Detroit River) only.
Walleyes have been taken on the Michigan side of Peche Island, with spot like the Roostertail, Chene Park and the Ren Cen giving up a few fish. A cold front earlier in the wk shut things down on but the good weather coming should get things into high gear.
Most fish I see being caught on chartruese jigs with a variety of plastic trailers-wyandotte worm, Bio bait minnow and other minnow imitators.

Perch fishing continues to be good in the Colchester area near the mile marker with speaders or pickeral rigs with minnows. Keep an eye on your electronics and move as needed to find active schools.
