Here is an interesting subject;

What would be wrong with the idea, that a tournament team ,while casting could use a dead stick out the back of the boat. Whether the bait would drag on the bottom or float on the top. Many of us while trolling ,sometimes have a line in the propwash, which is a great way to catch muskies, whats "s so wrong with this Idea...........

So there I am at the State Championship a couple years back at Shelbyville.
My partner is up front on the trolling motor jetting us out slowly from the back of a cove. I decide I'm hungry and grab a sammwich. As I'm eating, I throw back a ShadRap about 15-20 ft as we mosey out of the back of this cove. Sure as stuff A musky blows up on my bait- I fumble around to get a handle and set the hook (rod was on my lap while I chomped doritos). LOST OPPORTUNITY! UGH!!

AS far as why not allow a dead stick, no great reason other than most tourneys only allow 1 pole per angler. I guess I'd be in favor of three rods per 2 person boats, but no more than 3 total. Interesting subject indeed.
