Hello fishing friends, FYI: I'm in Rockford, Illinois for the annual ISC sport show. If anyone is close stop by and take in the show. Times are Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday 11 to 5. We are in booth 1000 on the corner. There is a variety of outfitters, guides and equipment dealers, boats and outdoor toys. I'm quite sure you would enjoy it and get the fishing juices flowing. Update on Lake Erie western basin. The ice on the south shore was almost gone after the big warm up about a week ago. Ice fisherman were catching big Walleye hawgs just prior to the big melt down. As you probably know from watching CNN news several Ice fisherman were trapped when ice broke up and left them stranded in a moving ice flow. Our friends and fisherman were ok that particular saturday 2 weeks ago and were prudent enough to continue east to find safe ice to return to shore. There were some 135 fisherman that did have to be rescued from the USCG they left from Meinke and Anchor Point area about 10 miles west of wild wings. No one has fished since then as the ice is mostly gone. We will continue to update you on spring walleye fishing as we get closer to our spring launch about April 1. Give us a call on our new toll free number 1-888-811-8077 for your favorite fishing dates. March and April limits are 4 Walleye per person per day and 6 the remainder of the season. We look forward to another good season of walleye fishing in Lake Erie. Capt. Ron
