Still have about 6 "average in bays and non current channels through out the chain
blue gils are what being reported the most, average between 5 and 9 inches
taken on spikes and waxeys . drop to the bottem, let sit then raise

crappies would be next taken mainly on the northern lakes channel/cathrine
pink jigs tipped with minnows and getting reports them being taken on swedish pimples

flags........ great flag action on eyes on the northern lakes
more large mouth on the southern lakes

Paul thanks for the detailed report, I haven't done any ice fishing this year. Trying to catch up on other things; I may be out in a few weeks.

Remember take only what you need.

you need to get out their reports are good
stripers are hitting strong in mineloa bay (fox lake)
eyes are starting to hit the flags

I just received a notice from foxwaterways 01/08/2009

ALERT! - STAY OFF OF THE ICE! The Stratton Lock and Dam will be lowering the water levels... this will cause pockets of air between the ice and the water causing hazardous conditions



due to ice damning on the river and with water levels at a all time high for winter pool
the stratton dam will be lowering the water level starting now to next week
this will cause air pockets between the water and ice and will be verry un safe
ice buckling will be through out the chain as well

Paul a snow mobile went in this or last week ? on lake marie, do to the current, he was in for 45 mins, I think he made it.
