In the past few days Lakes Mendota and Monona have frozen over due to sub zero temperatures. On Cherokee Marsh, ice thickness is reaching 6" and more. Fishing on the lake continues to be spotty, however, with the occasional decent crappie and bluegill bite. Recent reports on Marshall Park and University Bay have seen slow action. Monona Bay on Lake Monona continues to produce most of the action on the chain, with the majority of the bite being smaller bluegills along with the occasional 7"+ bluegill and 9"-10" crappie scattered in between. Lake Waubesa reports continue to consist of inconsistent panfish action. Many fishermen have had difficulties locating the weeds, creating a challenge in finding a regular bite. Lake Kegonsa has had little report of bluegill action but some action from the perch bite off of William's Point. Some northern action has been reported in Warner Bay and Marshall Park, as well as in the Triangles in Monona Bay.
