I've read several places that the excess smoke and oily residue dripping from the muffler on my ice auger can be avoided by using a synthetic 2cyl oil like amsoil. but I have been unable to find this product locally. Does anyone know where I can buy amsoil ? What oil do you all use to mix your auger gas with ?
Thanks for all your responses.

I use a smokeless oil for chainshaws that comes in a small plastic packet that you can find at NAPA. I mix the oil and a shot of seafoam with one gallon of gas. Whatever doesn't get used in the auger goes in the weed whacker come spring.

I run amsoil in all my augers, kicker motors, weed wackers and chain saws and now even my sleds.
For your augers use amsoil saber with TCW3 1.5 oz. per gallon is what I use.
It is a 100 to 1 ratio oil but I go a little bit richer for the protection.
I get mine from the Brick House in Rapid River or I think Carquest may have it but it cost more there.
I will never go back to useing anything else, no smoke, easyer starting and they just plain run better
