But it sure is cold out. You have to admit that this is more like January weather, than December.......
Its sooooo cold that the eagles are even hugging each other.
Like the pic it looks like a postcard.

Your online name totally blew me away! My former fishing buddy passed away a few years ago, and he always called cty FF "Burma Road" !!!! It used to be pretty bad.... So, are you named after FF?

I am not from cty ff I live on burma road just north of mosinee that is why I use the name. Still I must say that is one heck of a picture --send in to MSN you could make a few dollors off it- thank you for sharing it with everyone on this site. b- road

Did you know that the pileated woodpecker's brain is "floating" in air to cushion it from the shock of the pecking? I kid you not! The brain is surrounded by air sacs that keep the critters from giving themselves concussions from the impacts!
Nice picture; pileated woodpeckers are easily spooked...
Our pileated buddies had been at work on the wood high tension poles that support the lines that go over Big Island. One of the birds was creating what looked like a nest to me. It was this huge hole in the side of the pole. I worried that we might have a 500,000 volt line come down, so I did my civic duty and called Xcel. They did eventaully get around to putting hardware cloth over the hole.....

Makes you wonder what you miss when your eating "bluncher";) and not looking outside.
Good thing the gadget guy comes up to keep fluffy on her toes.
