Looks like this may be the last chance of the season to do some fishing from the boat. There are still a few hearty souls heading out every night. Some industrious fishermen "fixed" the Escanaba harbor launch so that you can get out again. No docks in the water, but at least you can launch and beach your rig on shore.

A quick scan of the upper bay today showed about 90% of it skimmed over last night. A couple more weeks of this weather and it'll be good to go ( I know some guys will be out much sooner than that.)

Bring on the ice!

There is some ice in the upper bay. Some dedicated anglers have pushed out what looks like to be a couple of full sized shacks off the upper days river access. The entire upper bay is skimmed over but only some areas are safe enough for CAREFUL foot travel. There is about 4-6 inches of snow on the ground in Gladstone but it has blown around to show bare ground in most places. North and East of Rapid River there is all the snow a guy could want for the beginning of December.
