Fishing has been tough but my guys continue to keep the skunk out of the boat for another day. We caught the largest pike of the season so far and a 5lb. stud-smallie too. (While getting the hooks out of the pike, I got hooked-up, too and had to get 3 stitches/tetanus shot after we finished.) Shawn also had a 2-mid-30’s musky follow his big streamer to the boat over the course of the day but just couldn’t get one to eat.
The river is warming up while the flow is slowly getting lower via low flowing tributaries and the weed growth is moving quickly. Surface temps peaked at 76 today after starting at 72 this AM. The trout section topped out at 71!
Back at it later in the week doing a multi-species trip with traditional tackle.
