We had a nice day on the water hunting musky/pike on Tuesday. 13 year old, Chance, bagged a couple pike before getting a good look at a big musky taking 2 laps around the 8 before peeling off out of sight. Adam (father) bagged 2 pike of his own and had a larger pike come to the boat before leaving the area.
We had zero action from any other species which was surprising considering our lure selection. The river was up a little from the recent storm and extra discharge by the ACE. Levels are dropping by a few inches today along with the storm drainage happening. Some of the tributaries were pumping big mud into the river so we had to make some adjustments along the way.
Water temps were 71 degrees and man was it humid. Back at it tomorrow chasing Esox on the fly. Stay tuned.
Good luck and safe travels!
