Red Childress

I have been playing lots of golf/end-of-season tournaments and helping my oldest daughter move into their new house following her wedding last month. As October/November roll around, I’ll start hitting the water pretty hard. With this extended summer weather (and continued drought conditions), I moved several of my trips into October/November.
We need some rain to flush out the river from all the dying vegetation! Plus, my yard has been dead for weeks. Some leaves are slowly starting to hit the ground but still too early to call it Fall.
I recently picked up several new (Penn) Conflict II 4000 spinning reels with high-speed retrieve and really like them. I already had some of the first Gen reels in this series and decided to grab some of the 2nd Gen ones. Lots of line pick-up @ 37” per crank. I put them on my big walleye/musky-pike rods for mid-sized toothy baits.
This will be the final Fall/Winter of watching my daughter play College basketball. Then, it will be time to get back into the Winter fishing gig. Time sure flies when you stay busy!
Good luck and stay tuned!
