Ed had himself a pretty solid day yesterday. He caught his personal best walleye around 8:15. Then, he caught his personal best walleye around 8:25.:). Then, he catches his first musky ever at 1:40……………………ON HIS LAST CAST OF THE DAY! None of us knew it was his last cast until after we netted and released her.

We had decided to fish one more spot. Hal was done casting and I was just doing a little boat organization when we thought Ed had fallen out of the boat…………Nope. The musky crushed his bait at boatside, head butted the side of the boat and went absolutely nuts. She measured at 40.5 and was one of those muskies that had a bad disposition. That fish gave 100% during the fight. The 2 walleye measured 28.5 and 29.5 and were in the 8-10 pound range. All 3 fish ate the same bait.

Since it was Ed’s first musky, the customary thing was to give him the lure. A custom we have been doing for about 20 years or so. (All fish were released, BTW.)
