Dan told me he never cancels fishing trips so we hit the river yesterday and the water was really high but not too muddy to fish. Dan had 2 nice/hot follows but could not convert and he also stuck an upper 30’s pike later in the day. I lost 2 smaller fish (likely pike) in the mid-morning time frame. We had consistent action until around NOON which was when Kinzua began dropping the river by about a foot. We had zero action after 1pm.
Good luck and stay tuned!

Me and my crew from Texas had a terrible fishing day on Saturday. We didn’t even see a fish of any kind. Apocalyptic. It was kinda crappy out but the wind kept coming out of the SW so did not expect to see all the inactivity. Maybe we were on the wrong program………

Sunday was more high-water musky hunting but the water was the lowest we had fished this Spring. These guys had fished with me a few times before. We had a great day of action but did not do so well with the catching part.:)
We had 5 different muskies going in 3 different locations with 3 of them hooked and then lost. 2 of the fish were boatside blow-ups as we saw both fish engulf the lure and then shake off during the hookset. One of the largest fish had followed Craig’s bait tightly right up to boatside while we were having a conversation. He was looking at me and stopped his bait (which was floating on the surface) while still talking and I calmly ‘grunted’ for him to jerk the lure and the fish just completely engulfed it off the top! A couple headshakes later and she was gone. All our action happened between 9 and 12:30 or so.
Then, we get more rain today and the river level is already heading back up.:(
Good luck and stay tuned!
