The discharge rate has been slowly rising today meaning dead weed-tops and bank leaves will be flushing throughout the entire drainage......if levels continue to rise, fishing could be very tough today and tomorrow.

The river has risen (North of Warren) the equivalent of about 3-5 inches over the past 2 days.......I expect to see significantly higher water by the end of next week. We have rain/snow mix with a warming trend coming for early next week.

I certainly hope we get some flow going. I hate it when the water is crystal clear.

River has bumped up again but with very little color South of Warren......With the slow snow melt, the Conewango has not muddied up at all and is actually very clear but higher than last week.

The Army Corps is doing a repair of one of the lowhead dams on the lower Allegheny (near Freeport). This may alter some of the large flows that typically occur in the late fall as they may need to keep flows low to allow the work. I think they plan to draw down the pool there by running the water through the locks. I've never seen this process so it should be interesting.

That makes sense.........I was wondering why our flow has been cut way back for November.

With all this precipitation, the river was lowered overnite and is back down to the original level of last week........1700 cfs.

Either Pittsburgh has plenty of water for barge floating or the construction donwriver is playing into this equation.
