Opening day started out with a bang for my 5 guests and I. Doing the tag-a-long boat thing, two guests in my boat and three in theirs, we started out working 18 to 20 foot depths with both Reeves weedless jigs and new to the market Invasion weedless jigs tipped with large fatheads and found action right from the start. Working back and forth over an area surrounded by a zig zagging river channel we found many active walleye along with a few very nice pike. Although we were on a very good bite, we decided to spend the rest of our time working shallow water and we found some active smallies in the wood and rocky areas but no walleye. At days end with nice limits of eyes, we all agreed it was one of our better opening days in many years.

Back out today, will keep you posted.
