On the 7th I had a guide trip with Rick Dassow and his friends and their kids. There were six of them and we caught a pile of crappie. The largest of the day that we measured was 11 3/4". We caught about thirty in that size range. We really got some nice fish. It was strange though, most of the fish were either over 11 inches or under 9 1/2 inches. It was a little sketchy getting the ATV off the ice but with some grunt work we got back to shore. It's pretty sloppy. There were two grade school and one high school guys out with us and it was fun to see how much they were into catching fish. We had a hard time getting Jake to leave. Good times.
On the 8th and 9th my father-in-law and friend Buck came out fishing for the weekend. We caught a ton of fish. Lots of fish that were just short of eating size but then again a lot of good eaters also. Buck kept track the first hour he was out and caught 35 that hour. He stopped counting after that. It was even better in the afternoon. They were hitting pretty good. We had a lot of nice fish Saturday and Sunday and the weather was awesome so we could move around more to find fish. Hopefully there are some more days in store the next couple weeks like what we just had.
