Hello! Hope everybody had a safe and happy Christmas.

Looking to do some ice fishing on the TFF this weekend. How is the snow? It's been snowing a lot down here in the Fox Valley, and I know the Mercer area gets more than we do. Can the TFF be traveled with ATV, or is the snow too deep already?

Jeff Robl recently posted on another site that he was having difficulty driving his truck on the TFF due to slush pockets. He saw ATVs traveling, but was unsure if they also experienced problems with slush. Snowmobiles were his suggestion for travel.

Good luck and Happy New Year!

I would not recommend ATV travel. There are a lot of areas to use the ATV but its the areas of slush can spoil your fun in a hurry. I just got home from the TFF and saw many ATV's that got stuck in the slush pockets. We drove the truck out one time and had to really give her to get thru the slush. We just walked after that. Snowmobile travel would be the best. Good luck. Fishing with tip ups were pretty good using medium shiners and sucker minnows. 8 - 12 fow. Had flags throughout the day. Caught perch, walleye, and northern.

The walleye and perch bite has been hot; however, the crappies seemed to be tight lipped so far. Maybe the upcoming "warm" weather may change things!

Happy New Year everyone.

Take a look at www.turtleflambeauflowage.com for area information and to order a free TFF map.

We went out of Sturgeon Bay landing. Used the ATV. Caught 2 northern on tipups, lost a few others. Nothing jigging. Beautiful day out on the Flowage. Some slush, but not bad where we were. Thanks!
