Hi everyone,

Yesterday I picked up Logan, Maya, and Emma at Johnsons Resort for an afternoon of fishing while thier parents were in a tag along boat. Although the bite was very tough, we did manage 7 walleyes keeping 2 and boated crappies, bluegills, and perch keeping almost a dozen of the panfish. Most bites were real light but we were able to get the hooks of the lead-free jigs to connect. Most fish were enticed by minnows with just a few prefering leeches. All fish were located in the deeper wood.

It was mostly cloudy with a modest west wind but cleared up and the wind picked up by evening. Air temps were warm in the 70's and the water temps were 70 degrees. Saw lots of bug casings on the water every where we went. Still have a major bug hatch going on where we were. It's important to rememember that the bugs don't all hatch at the same time every where on the Big Chip so if you see a major hatch in one place, try another spot and sometimes you can get away from it. Good luck fishing everyone.
