The past few days has continued to see some decent walleye action along with some real good panfish action. The walleye for the most part have either been on the edges or the deeper drops of the mid lake humps. Bait of choice is up to the angler as leeches, crawlers, and minnows have been working equally well, just a matter of a slow retrieve and keep presentation as close to the bottom as possible. Bluegills, crappie, and perch have been building up in numbers on the cribs and other deep wood structures. Yesterday for example, my client and I found many good sized gills along with crappie up to 14 inches tucked in the cribs and were taken by vertical jigging 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either small fatheads or a two inch piece of crawler. On an interesting note, a few of the female gills were still carrying eggs, while all others were empty.

Back out on Monday, will keep you posted.
