Talk about walleye action, the past three days have been nothing short of great despite the warm temps, bright sky's, lack of wind, and the lingering mayfly hatch that is finally ending. All three days has seen the eyes relating to wood structure in 10 to 14 feet of water and also in the shoreline coontail. Both 1/16th and 1/8th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with half crawler were used, all depended on water depth as to what weight jig to use. The slower the retrieve by far produced the most fish as the eyes were tight to the bottom and not really in the chasing mood until later in the day when they became a little more aggressive. My clients on all three days were very impressed with the flowage and the walleye action it has to offer, the one thing that really impressed them, and me also is that there were a total of 4 spots we fished in three days that didn't produce a walleye.
Happy 4th of July to all.
