Hi everyone,

Got out for a couple hours yesterday evening. I try to find new spots and try different tactics when I'm not guiding a client. That's just what I did last night and had some tough sledding. There was a good walleye chop from the NE with a bluebird sky and high pressure so I fished some soft bottom deeper areas. Using my lead-free jigs with minnows and leeches and using a slip bobber rig, I had very few bites. Went back to a woody drop off and finally caught and released 3 small walleye and a huge crappie. the crappie could have eaten all three walleyes. The leeches caught more then the minnows.

The water temps were 71 degrees and the air temps were in the 70's. An absolutely gorgeous time to be on the water regardless of the walleye bite. Good luck fishing everyone and remember to use lead-free jigs.
