Thursdays action was very good, it's just that the walleye didn't happen to get invited to the party. Doing a half day trip, my client and I were on fish from the first spot we fished to the last spot. Right off the bat we boated a nice eye on a weedless Reeves jig tipped with a mud minnow in 4 feet of water just on top of a sharp drop to the river channel. On the next 3 casts we had fish on but all got off before they reached the net. Working this rather large area for some time produced nothing but smallmouth and pike. On the rest of our stops, it was pretty much the same, a smallie explosion, and in all depths and structures, 4 to 10 foot depths. We did manage to boat 2 more eyes but the smallie and pike numbers were over 20 in these areas.
