Hi everyone,

Fishing was tough yesterday. But Bob and Jeff were willing to tough it out. Bob was an NFL football player back in the day. He played for coaches John Madden, Tom landry, and Buddy Ryan. His football playing career was cut short by injury, but he fished like an all pro in my book.

Ww caught 4 walleyes keeping 2 and kept a crappie and released rock bass and a knuckle head northern. Every fish we did catch was in the wood again on lead-free jigs and minnows. That is still the pattern. You will lose a lot of jigs in the wood, so please be good stewards of our natural resources and use lead-free jigs and baits.

I put us on some soft bottom basin humps and not even a bite. All the fish are relating to the wood still, but keep experimenting, they will make a movement out to the soft bottom basin when the bug larvae get active. Then it should be a leech bite. The water temps started out at 59 degrees in the morning with a heavy overcast sky and strong SE wind. Afternoon, the sky cleared and the sun warmed everything up quick. The wind died to nothing and in a couple hours the water temps were at 64 degrees.

The fish just weren't as active as they had been the last week. We didn't get a ton of hits and had to work for every fish we caught. As the water temps continue to rise, the fishing will improve. good luck fishing everyone.
