Hi everyone,

Finally got enough done on our house in Radisson to be able to get back on the ice. Fished from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M. with Josh. Using jigs tipped with waxxorms, we caught a total of 46 crappies and 1 bluegill. Of those, we kept 18 crappies and the one bluegill. Smallest crappie we kept was 10" and the biggest crappies were 12"ers.We only kept 2 12" and released the other two and also released many more at 10-11". Keeping 19 fish for two guys is plenty. We enjoyed catching many fish while losing many more.

We fished 24 feet of water with fish moving in and out the whole time. We didn't have to move at all. There were times when it slowed down, but when we thought about moving, more marks came in. I would term the action steady. We were fishing in a rather large group of other people. It's not exactly a secret spot. But still a lot of crappies in that area. On the way back, we stopped to try a spot for just a few minutes. We marked lots of fish, but none would hit. Same baits with different results. We gave it a half hour then called it a day.

The weather started out with mild temps in the high teens and when we called it a day, it was in the low twenties. We had a very cloudy day with low clouds and intermittent snow showers with a south west wind that was around 10 MPH. Sitting in a portable shack with Josh's propane heater, we were very comfortable. Get out and enjoy the Big chip covered in snow. Her beauty is breath taking. Good luck fishing everyone.
