With all this warm weather is there any ice on the lake? Any fishing reports for the open water or ice?

Ice is building on Bergland Bay 5-6” thick. Fishing has been steady with good numbers of perch and walleye coming through the ice on Bergland Bay. Lack of snow cover seems to be making a nice smooth, hard ice surface (don’t forget your crampons). Good results with medium suckers. Good luck and safe fishing.

The ice is starting to firm up on Gogebic. We have had a couple cold night in row now after a weekend of warm weather and rain.
Safety is always number one so keep checking back here for updates. The main part of the lake is not safe to go on but the Bergland bay has about 6" in most spots but not everywhere. Check the ice as you go. Their are a couple expansion cracks out there that can change with the weather.
Okay, with all that said some folks are out there catching fish. I haven't heard to much about the perch at this time but they are catching walleye. most popular technique is the tip-up fishing at dusk and dawn tipped with sucker minnows, shinners, or fat heads. Some guys are finding luck jigging them up too.
If you would like an up to the minute report you can call us at the resort.
Thanks for checking in,
