Our annual club outing was welcomed again at AML with the same great service and desire to put us on fish!!! I am amazed every year at the amount of desire in camp to put people on fish and make the experience the best it can be.

Some of our group did guide dates through out the week and learned a ton and either caught or got shots at some good fish.

Talking with the group everyone had a great time and had nothing but good things to say about AML and eagle lake. Many already talked about signing up again for next years trip!

We started out with calm sunny conditions and folks were moving fish and catching some but mostly small fish. As the week progressed we got some decent weather and temps dropped. Started the week at 70F water temps and ended at 66F. With the dropping temps the big girls started showing up!!!

Fish were a little in transition and really were not eating with abandonment but a lot of nipping and hitting at the boat. Most of the fish caught by the group hit at the boat in properly manuvered 8's. Those that hit out were usually due to reaction strikes on ripped grannies "Mike style". With the nipping that was going on a lot of fish were hooked but lost. My boat for example got hooks into 18 fish (all hit in the 8) but only managed to landed 8 of them. Partner lost a couple personal best fish with a couple of 48+ fish!! OUCH! This pattern was consistent across boats with fish being hooked and lost and then some hitting the net. A couple of mid 40 inch fish were the largest landed for the week.

The group landed 20 muskies, (with a bunch lost, including of course some real heart breakers) a bunch of decent pike, a couple large smallies, and some walleyes in the mix as well.

Thanks again to the staff at AML and Herbie for yet another memoriable trip to Gods country!
