Hi everyone,

Guided out of Treelands resort yesterday. In the morning took Andy and Jarred and after lunch I took out their wifes Kristen and Carrie. Greeted with cold front conditions in the A.M., the fishing was slow for the first hour. As the sun rose the fishig just got better and better. When the day was done we had boated dozens of bluegills keeping 19, a bunch of smallies and 6 walleyes keeping 2.

Caught most fish on slip bobbers baited with leeches. Tried minnows too but nothing touched those, so we stuck to leeches. A few fish came jigging with leeches, but with the cold front, the slower presentatin of the slip bobber rigs produced much better. We fished the woody humps and the fish were tight in the cover. A few times a fish would grab the bait and go right back into the wood getting us hopelessly snagged. The weater was gorgeous all day with mostly sunny skies with a moderate north wind that tempered the hot sun. The water temps are back up to 75 degrees. The up and down of the water temps seems to slow the fishing.

As the water temps cool down in the fall, the walleye fishing should heat up. If you need a guide for a fall walleye hunt, give me a call. Good luck fishing everyone.
